Students Poems Selected to be Published in ‘Poetopia’

They wrote…They entered… They were selected!

The Duston School is absolutely delighted to have 75 published poets attending the school. The students in Years 7, 8 and 9 were given the opportunity to write their own poems and enter them in the Young Writer’s competition: Poetopia. Despite an initial lack of confidence with some students, they see to really enjoy writing their poems in lesson. There were also many perfectionists who drafted and redrafted their poems a number of times at home before they were satisfied that they could be submitted. There were many students who didn’t see the point in entering; as they wouldn’t win’, but with some gentle persuasion the school sent a package of one hundred poems to Young Writers over half term.
