ONLINE SAFETY

Our children, both in and out of school, use the internet daily.  As part of their learning in school we teach ‘e-safety’ through the ICT curriculum focusing on the importance of keeping themselves safe online.  We actively encourage pupils to reach out to a trusted member of staff if they are ever concerned about activity online or amongst peers in chat groups etc.

With the introduction and ever-evolving use of AI, it’s imperative that children and young people are equipped with knowledge to keep themselves safe online.  Just knowing how to report anything they are concerned with is a bonus.

Report & Remove is a link to Childline’s website that gives clear guidance as to how to report inappropriate images that may have been shared online.

If you have any concerns about grooming, sexual abuse or exploitation on any online app/site, report to CEOP (the National Crime Agency’s Child Exploitation and Online Protection Command) – this site has a ‘Quick Exit’ button.  If you think you are (or your child is) in immediate danger, call 999.

Popular Apps and Minimum Ages

Be aware, different Apps regularly update both their privacy and safety settings.  Go to the App’s help section to check their current procedures and settings.  Positions of the settings may also differ on mobile and desktop versions.
