Harassment/Misogyny

The Duston School runs a zero tolerance to any form of bullying to include harassment and misogyny. 

‘It’s just banter’, ‘it’s just a joke’ is not considered an excuse for unkind, negative or derogatory interactions between, or towards, children and young people.

The Duston School fully supports the Anti-Bullying Alliance’s (ABA) anti-bullying annual campaigns. 

This year’s campaign runs 16^th-20^th November 2026 with the theme ‘Break the SILENCE’; encouraging our young people to come together and speak openly, choosing kindness.

Should you have any concerns relating to an incident in which your (or another) child may be being bullied then please contact your child’s Tutor in the first instance, or a member of their year team.

Recognising the signs of bullying:

·         Belongings are ‘lost’ or damaged
·         Physical injuries, such as unexplained bruises
·         Being afraid to go to school, being mysteriously ‘ill’ each morning or skipping school
·         Not doing so well at school
·         Asking for, or stealing, money
·         Appearing nervous, losing confidence, or becoming distressed and withdrawn
·         Problems with eating and/or sleeping
·         Bullying others
