The Duston School More Able Provision

At The Duston School, we are committed to ensuring that all pupils are supported, challenged and inspired to achieve their very best. Our More Able provision is designed to recognise pupils' strengths, nurture their potential and provide meaningful opportunities for academic stretch, personal development and wider enrichment.

We believe that challenge should be part of every classroom. We are committed to promoting ambitious thinking, intellectual curiosity and high expectations for all learners. Through our curriculum and wider opportunities, we encourage pupils to think deeply, work independently, ask ambitious questions and develop the confidence to pursue excellence both inside and outside the classroom.

    Our Aim

Our aim is to create a culture where high achievement is celebrated and pupils are encouraged to go beyond the expected. We want pupils to develop curiosity, resilience and independence, while accessing opportunities that help them explore future pathways, including university, apprenticeships, leadership, research, careers and specialist subject interests.

    Our Vision

Our vision is for every more able pupil to feel recognised, challenged and inspired. Through high-quality teaching, embedded curriculum challenge, enrichment opportunities and the celebration of excellence, we aim to help pupils develop the confidence, knowledge and skills needed to flourish.

At The Duston School, we encourage every pupil to Dream. Believe. Achieve. Our More Able provision embodies this ethos by creating opportunities for pupils to aspire beyond perceived limits, pursue excellence and realise their full potential.

    More Able Book of Excellence

The More Able Book of Excellence celebrates outstanding work, achievement and engagement from pupils across The Duston School.

Each year, the publication showcases examples of pupils going above and beyond through subject work, independent study, enrichment, wider achievement and participation in our More Able provision. Pupils may be selected for inclusion through engagement with the KS3 Stretch Passport, Scholar Log or through teacher nomination.
