The Sixth Form Bursary is a government-funded scheme designed to support students who may face financial barriers to continuing their education after Year 11. The bursary aims to ensure that all students have equal access to learning opportunities, regardless of their financial circumstances.
Eligible students may receive an individual bursary of up to £1,200 per academic year. Financial assistance can be used to help cover a range of educational costs, including:
To be considered for bursary support, students must meet the required financial criteria and provide any necessary evidence as part of the application process. In addition, students are expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to their studies by maintaining 96% attendance or above, punctuality, and consistently positive behaviour and conduct within the Sixth Form community.
Applications are assessed confidentially, and bursary awards are made based on individual circumstances and available funding. Students who receive support may be required to continue meeting attendance and conduct expectations throughout the academic year to remain eligible.
Further information, eligibility criteria and application forms can be obtained from the Sixth Form Hub. Students and parents/carers are encouraged to apply as early as possible to ensure support is in place at the start of the academic year.
