Developing employability skills and experiencing the workplace

In Year 10, pupils develop a greater understanding of the workplace and begin to evolve into confident, responsible and work-ready young people.                                                        They are supported to:

• Complete a meaningful work experience placement
• Develop a CV and prepare for applications
• Participate in mock interviews
• Take part in employability workshops
• Meet employers and professionals
• Experience workplace and industry visits
• Explore post-16 courses and pathways
• Understand the skills, qualities and behaviours employers value
• Access independent careers guidance

Year 10 Work Experience

All Year 10 pupils are given the opportunity to complete work experience. This allows them to explore a career area, develop employability skills and gain a greater understanding of workplace expectations.
